Curtin invests over $350,000 in Journalism program

A funding injection of almost $350,000 toward new facilities and equipment will help boost Curtin’s ability to produce high quality journalism graduates.

A funding injection of almost $350,000 toward new facilities and equipment will help boost Curtin’s ability to produce high quality journalism graduates.

Curtin already has an impressive track record of producing leading journalism graduates such as The West Australian Chief Crime Reporter Sean Cowan, ABC Reporter and Weekend Newsreader Frances Bell and Channel 9 Weather Presenter and WIN WA TV Newsreader Natalia Cooper.

Dean of the Faculty of Media, Society and Culture Professor Colin Brown is delighted with the funding announcement.

“The funds will help our Journalism area to expand its publishing opportunities such as the Western Independent newspaper that is written and produced by our students,” Professor Brown said.

“TV Journalism will be boosted with new cameras, television equipment and TV studio facilities,” he said.
